Play online with friends, skip rake

Postby markshultz on Thu Dec 17, 2009 1:40 pm

Hi all,

I'd like to play texas holdem with a friend, then split the money afterwards in person without paying rake.

I keep finding sites where I have to beg for chips, sites where the games are in essence public instead of private. Also I cannot find a single site where I can set the game parameters, e.g. the time after which the blinds are increased.

Please let me know if there's such a thing.

Thanks,
Mark Shultz

I can't think of any online site that won't charge a rake for using their service. Your best option is probably to go to your friends house and play.

Mark,

The only site which allows creating custom games, set out all the rules, is to my knowledge http://www.ownthecards.com ... Does anyone have another one?

Hi, it's funny you should bring this up. I'm with a company called HogWildPokerLeagues.com.

We offer a private poker league platform (live or online) in which there is no rake. The table also has features you won't find on pokerstars, FT, etc, like the ability to hook up a headset and talk to your friends at the table.

We don't officially launch till next month, and we're in the final stages of beta testing. So for a short time, there is no fee to use the system.

One thing though, if you do use the software during this period, please invite all your friends. We're trying to test the system, and the more players we get, the better we can gauge what resources will be needed.

If you have any questions, please email me at greg.friend@ambergaming.com.

Enjoy!
